Common questions

How do I calculate how long it takes to save up?

Subtract what you already have from the goal price, then divide by how much you save each week. For example, a KES 8,000 bike with KES 2,000 saved and KES 300 saved weekly takes (8000-2000)/300 = 20 weeks.

How can I help my child reach a savings goal faster?

Add a small weekly top-up, let them earn extra from chores, or set a matching offer (for every amount they save, you add a little). Even a small increase per week can cut the time significantly.

What's a good first savings goal for a child?

Something they genuinely want and can reach in 4–8 weeks, like a toy, a game or a pair of shoes. Quick early wins build the saving habit before tackling bigger goals.

Make the goal real.

In Tija Kids your child sets this goal and watches the bar fill as they save, and you can chip in or reward chores. All in your currency.
