Thomson's Falls
The Ewaso Ng'iro River drops 74 metres into a fern-lined ravine at Nyahururu, and the viewpoints are a few steps from the car park, which makes this one of the easiest big waterfalls in Kenya to visit with small children. A steep path leads down to the pool at the bottom for those who fancy the climb back up, and there's a hippo pool a short walk upstream. Curio stalls and a lodge with a lawn overlook the falls.
Good to know: Stay behind the railings at the top and take the descent slowly — the path down is steep and slick with spray.
