Kitale Museum

Kitale Open daily

Kitale Museum grew out of the natural history collection left to the country by Lieutenant Colonel Stoneham, and covers the wildlife, geology and cultures of western Kenya. Outside the galleries are traditional homesteads of local communities, a small collection of live animals and reptiles, and a nature trail through riverine forest behind the grounds. It's a genuinely good hour or two and an easy pairing with Saiwa Swamp.

Good to know: The outdoor homesteads and nature trail are the part children enjoy most — leave time after the galleries.
