Stedmak Gardens, out near Bomas of Kenya, bundles several outings behind one gate: a small animal, bird and reptile park, funfair-style rides including a train and a merry-go-round, a giant slide and play area, and a heated indoor swimming pool. Gardens and restaurants — including a floating one — cover lunch between activities. It's a dependable holiday-weekend and birthday-party spot for younger children.

Good to know: Pack swimming things — the pool is heated and indoors, so it works even on a cold Nairobi day.
