How to join

- 2If you want a boat, walk down to the beach and hire a licensed boat for the papyrus channels. Agree the route and time before you board. Life jackets should be on the boat; ask to see them.
- 3Younger children who dislike boats can stay on the hill. The views, birds over the papyrus, and space to move are the outing for them.
- 4Order tilapia or a snack after the ride, not before, if anyone is prone to feeling queasy on the water.
- 5Sunset is the usual window for the light on the lake. Arrive with enough afternoon left that you are not rushing the boat in the dark.
