Kisumu Museum showcases the culture and history of the Lake Victoria region, including a recreated traditional Luo homestead, ethnographic displays and natural-history exhibits. A small aquarium of lake fish and a few live animals add to the appeal for kids. It's an affordable, sheltered outing that pairs learning with curiosity.

Good to know: The traditional homestead exhibit is the highlight — leave time to walk through it.
