Ndere Island is a small, rarely-crowded national park on Lake Victoria, reached by boat from near Kisumu. The island shelters impala, hippos, monkeys and a rich variety of birds, with gentle walking trails and superb lake views. It's an adventurous, off-the-beaten-path day out for families who enjoy a boat trip.
